Just like we are all particular in whether we like coffee or tea, we are very picky when it comes to our favorite cola brand. Pakistanis either like Pepsi or Coke, and so does the rest of the world, but which of these is the healthier drink?

Some of the world’ biggest celebrities have endorsed Pepsi over the years..

Coca Cola hasn’t been that far behind either..

But the real debate is whether it is Coke or Pepsi the better of the two. The two are the undisputed market leaders in the ‘soda’ industry. Conventionally, Pepsi is believed to be the dominant force in the Asian region, which includes Pakistan of course, while Coke is perceived to have a larger share around the rest of the world.

While the ingredients of both the brands have popularly been kept under wraps, there is no hiding piece of addition keeps consumers coming back for more-sugar. A test was carried out on International Diabetes Day, on November 14, to see which of the two contained more sugar. Here’s what happened:

Both Coke and Pepsi have been observed to cause the same effects on their consumers, regardless of a difference in sugar contents. First and foremost, the caffeine and sugar in the drinks can be addictive, and over-consumption can lead to diabetes and other related diseases. While this will take a lot of time to show, others won’t. Too much Coke or Pepsi makes even the most perfect teeth yellow, which won’t look particularly nice with those extra inches on your waist. A recent study has also shown that too much consumption over a long period of time can also lead to reproductive problems in both men and women.

Coke and Pepsi are harmful for you, and so are all other fizzy drinks. Switch to water to quench your thirst, and if you want to appease your taste buds every now and then, and nice glass of fresh juice will do you more good than harm.
