Remember The Lion King? It Is Getting A Remake And It’s Cast Will Blow Your Mind

If you were a 90s or early 2000s kid, there is no doubt the Lion King was your favorite movie growing up. The legendary Disney animated movie is going to be getting a remake, featuring some of the biggest names in Hollywood.

The Lion King was released over 20 years ago in 1994, with very few guessing it would go on to be an international sensation. The movie remains one of the highest grossing animated movies ever made, and even got re-released in 3d a few years ago, bringing back childhood memories of so many.

After the successful release of The Jungle Book, another immensely successful animated movie from the 90s, many believed The Lion King would be next, and they were all right. The Jungle Book remake was possible due to enhanced CGI technology that film makers have at their disposal, with lifelike features and movements of animals been made very easy to replicate on a computer screen. The Lion King is set to be made using the same technology.

The cast of the 1994 movie features some big names of the film fraternity of the time, and the latest version is set to go in the same direction. Here are some of the actors doing voice overs for the main characters of the movie..

James Earl Jones as Mufasa

Some things never change. James Earl Jones is the man behind the legendary low pitched voice of Mufasa in the original version, and will be returning behind the mic for the remake.

Donald Glover as Simba

Donald Glover is a prominent TV actor, having featured in several high profile shows. He has nabbed the role of the main character of the movie- Simba.

Beyonce as Nala

If there is anyone in the world who has got a decent voice in her, Beyonce would be right up there. With nobody doubting her exploits as a singer, it will be very interesting to see how she does when she lends her voice to Nala, Simba’s love interest.

Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar

The 12 Years A Slave star will be playing Mufasa’s brother, and Simba’s treacherous uncle Scar in the remake.

Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner as Pumba and Timon, respectively.

Besides Simba, Lion King lovers have always been huge fans of Timon and Pumba. They were received so well by the audience that the studio decided to give the pair their own movie in the Lion King franchise. They will be played by funny men Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner.

Lion King is set to be released by July 2019. Mark your calendars!
