Narcos broke the shackles of Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead when season one of the now super hit TV show came out. After dedicating two seasons to capturing Pablo Escobar, and one to the Cali Cartel, season 4 will be focusing on the Mexican drug mafia.
The show, which airs on Netflix, released the trailer for season 4 just recently over on YouTube. Take a look.
Well, you might have noticed that the name of a certain Pedro Pascal was missing from the trailer. Pascal, who plays Javier Pena, the star of season 3, will no longer be a part of the show, despite the show hinting at the end of season 3 that Pena would be deployed in Mexico. Starring the show instead of him will be Michael Pena and Diego Luna.
Soon after Narcos season 3 aired in September, a news broke out of Pedro Pascal voicing his concern over the safety of the Narcos crew and team of actors. This came after one of the member of the Narcos filming crew was shot dead in a bullet ridden car in Mexico, and his body was later found in a secluded area around Mexico City. Pascal announced that he would refuse work on season 4 if safety was not ensured.
Many have wondered who the DEA will be chasing this time. Fans have been hoping it will be El Chapo, the Mexican drug lord who was only recently caught and imprisoned, but this does not seem the case. El Chapo was not that big a deal in the late eighties and early nineties.
The show will probably focus around a character that was already shown in season 3 as the next Narco. Armando Carrillo Fuentes was shown to be an up and coming drug champ, and the producers might just take him to Mexico.
Season 4 is set to come out somewhere in 2018.
