Here Is How Pakistanis Reacted After Coke Studio Season 10 Kicked Off

The moment we had all been waiting for finally came this weekend, as Coke Studio kicked off for the their tenth season. The studio’s version of the National Anthem not only marked the beginning of the season, but also wished Pakistan a Happy 70th Birthday. So how exactly did the first episode fare?

The studio announced a change in format of the telecast of the songs. In all the nine seasons prior, the entire hour long episode would air at the prime time on every channel, but this time, the songs have been allotted four different time slots. The change in telecasting of the songs is said make the accommodation of the episodes more convenient for channels across the country.

The first episode brought to us four songs. The first was an Ahmed Jahanzeb and Shafqat Amanat Ali duet ‘Allah Hu Akbar’, which continues Coke Studio’s tradition of beginning the season with spiritual flare, just like Aaqa and Taajdar-e-Haram in the past two seasons. This was followed by Ali Sethi’s rendition of Mehdi Hasan’s most popular Ghazal ‘Ranjish Hi Sahi’, Momina Mustehsan and Danyal Zafar’s ‘Muntazir’ was next, and the episode ended with Amanat Ali and Hina Nasrulllah’s thumri number ‘Chaa Rahi Kaali Ghata’.

Here is what Pakistan though of the first episode of the new season..

Burka Avengers artist Arsalan Naseer believes someone else saved the day..

Adulation from across the border was also earned..

Many Pakistanis, who miss Rohail Hyaat, would second these guys..

Amanat Ali fans be like..

After witnessing the success of Coke Studio for 9 agonizing seasons, Pepsi re-introduced their version of the format with Battle of The Bands, but with a mediocre response from the public, Coke Studio’s popularity seems to remain unchallenged. How did you find the first episode of season 10?
