He came, he saw and he conquered. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has cemented himself in Manchester United folklore, and that too in just one season. He sustained a cruciate ligament injury against Anderlecht in the Europa League, which proved to be his last game in a United shirt. Having been announced to be out till at least until the turn of 2018, United have opted not to renew his contract.
When his time at PSG was coming to an end last summer, Zlatan Ibrahimovic was repeatedly asked questions over his future, to which he replied with mix answers, not to allow anyone to draw any sort of conclusions regarding his future. Over in England, the biggest club in the country appointed the Special One, Jose Mourinho, the man who held a special bond with Zlatan ever since their time with Inter Milan. The match seemed perfect, and Ibrahimovic, after months of speculation, signed for United on a free transfer.
Almost a year on, Zlatan has helped United win three trophies in his and Mourinho’s very first season. He scored a total of 28 goals in the season, including the winning goals in the Community Shield and the EFL Cup finals. He scored on his Manchester United debut, ending the season as the clubs highest goal-scorer, and becoming an instant fan favorite. He described United as the biggest club he has been at, and the love affair was equally reciprocated by the fans and the club in general.
He’s been working hard on his recovery too..

While news of Zlatan’s release has broken out almost everywhere, Manchester United has not announced any thing of the sort as yet. Despite not naming him in the list of players retained, United will allow Ibrahimovic to continue his rehab at the club, and if they are impressed with his recovery, might still offer him a contract in January.
